OUR STORY

Almost 13 years of fun, laughter, and love can hardly be summed up on one page, but we are happy to give you a small glimpse…

It all began in April Walter’s Honors English course in the Fall of 2011. He was the athlete, she was the nerd. While a friendship was built, the semester inevitably ended and they went their separate ways.

Fast forward about a year. Emily was working the front desk of the Patapsco dorms when Travis and his teammate, Cody (shoutout), exited the building. Cody was all dolled-up in make-up, a skin-tight dress, and stilettos. Why, you ask? Emily wondered the same so, remembering Travis from class, she messaged him on Facebook. Not a day has gone by, since that first message, that the two have not spoken.

Travis and Emily became “official” in 2013 after a wonderful date at Baltimore’s finest - The Cheesecake Factory. However, it wouldn’t be long until Travis transferred colleges and returned to Massachusetts. They chose to stay together and try to make the long distance work. While the distance was hard, countless trips back and forth between Maryland and Massachusetts allowed the two to make some of their most unforgettable memories.

Their long distance relationship was finally over when Travis graduated in May of 2016 and moved to Boston where Emily was living and studying law. The pair moved around the Boston area for a few years before settling in Worcester, Massachusetts to raise their fur baby, Tessie, in 2020.

Throughout the years, Emily and Travis have made countless memories - attending concerts and sporting events, travelling the world, trying various cuisines (but rarely sharing their entree because Travis says if you want it, order it!), exploring breweries across New England, hosting friends and family from near and far, binging TV shows (if they could find one they agreed on), and so much more. They have built a strong foundation for a beautiful, imperfect, long life together.

Travis decided to take the leap in August 2023. Emily was on a Vacation Club vacation (GIRLS ONLY) in Ogunquit, Maine when, before dinner one evening, she noticed Travis waiting in a gazebo. She threw her purse, immediately burst into tears, and started swinging her arms in a very strange fashion as she walked towards him. Travis, worried Emily was going to pass out or fly away (the swinging arm thing again??), helped her into the gazebo and popped the question. To this day, Emily doesn’t remember a single thing from the moment she saw him until the moment she had a glass of celebratory champagne in her hand.

Now here they are in 2025, planning a wedding, still raising their perfect angel, Tessie, and making new memories every chance they get.

And to think… what will undoubtably be one of the best memories of their lives is yet to come. See you November 1st!
